Sivananda Ashram, founded by Swami Sivananda in 1936, serves as the headquarters of The Divine Life Society. Situated in Rishikesh, India, this ashram is a revered center for spiritual practice and learning. It has hosted many renowned spiritual leaders and practitioners from around the world.

A Typical Day

A day at Sivananda Ashram is filled with spiritual activities aimed at enhancing sadhana (spiritual practice) for visitors of all backgrounds.

Morning Schedule:

  • 5:00 – 6:00 AM: Meditation, chanting, and a short talk.
  • 6:00 – 7:00 AM: First worship, yoga (men only), and chanting.
  • 7:30 – 9:00 AM: Vishnu Sahasranama chanting.
  • 9:30 – 10:30 AM: Worship at Gurudev’s Samadhi Shrine and Lord Viswanath.

Evening Schedule:

  • 1:00 – 3:00 PM: Music sessions.
  • 4:30 – 6:30 PM: Evening chanting, worship, and Ganga Arati.
  • 7:30 – 9:30 PM: Satsang with lectures, kirtans, and bhajans.
